Our history

Founded in 2021, the Congolese Ecological Society (SOCECO) has established itself as a pioneering player in social entrepreneurship in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Far more than just a company, SOCECO embodies a holistic vision of development, where economic progress, social equity, and environmental preservation are inextricably linked. Its activities are mainly carried out in the provinces of South Kivu and Haut-Uélé, where it addresses the interconnected challenges of energy poverty, ecosystem degradation, and food insecurity.

Institutional Mandate / Mission

Our mission is to catalyze sustainable and inclusive development in the Democratic Republic of the Congo by designing and deploying integrated solutions that simultaneously address the interconnected challenges of energy poverty, food insecurity, and ecosystem degradation.

We primarily work in the provinces of South Kivu and Haut-Uélé, focusing on three strategic and synergistic pillars:

We are democratizing access to reliable and clean electricity through renewable energy, thereby unlocking the socio-economic potential of rural communities and reducing the pressure on forest resources.

We convert plastic and organic waste into valuable resources, thereby creating economic opportunities while improving environmental sanitation.

Vision

To become the reference in terms of ecology by establishing partnerships with other structures or organizations presenting themselves as protectors of the environment through these activities, and this to prove to the public our commitment to collective well-being through projects with a relevant environmental impact.
